Create a Creature Learning Module
1
|
Look in your notes and write down the precipitation in cm for each
biome.
We are going to take the maximum precipitation for each biome and
graph them.
Fill out the chart
|
||||||||||||||||
2.
|
Create a bar graph comparing the precipitation in each biome.
Remember that Bar Graphs don’t touch.
I started the numbering along the vertical axis – going by 5s.
The maximum value for
rainforest may not fit on the graph. Just graph it as high as your can.
Check to make sure you gave your graph a title
Turn your graph in the turn in box when you are done.
|
||||||||||||||||
3.
|
You are given a letter when you came in the room.
This number determines what biomes you can choose from.
Select one from the choices
below:
A – TDF (Temperate Deciduous Forest) , Desert, Tundra
B – Tropical Rain Forest, Grasslands, Taiga
You must create a fictional creature that can live in this environment.
This can’t be something that already exists.
Your create needs to have 5
different adaptations that help it to stay alive and thrive in the environment.
Examples of adaptations:
·
Body designs that help with eating and feeding
·
body designs that help prevent them from being
eat, design that helps them to prey upon food
·
design that helps attract mates
·
design that helps them live in their
particular environments – like to live in trees, or underground
·
design that helps them maintain their body
heat ( helps to burrow, stay warm or stay cool)
First come up with the 5 or more adaptations that your creature will
have. Draw your creature and label the 5+ adaptations of your creature.
Challenge: Create a
plant to live in your environment. The plant must have 5 adaptations to help
it survive.
Hint: Think about the plants that live in the Tundra and Taiga.
